THE YEAR IS 20XX.
SOCIETY HAS COLLAPSED.
AMONG THE WRECKAGE OF CIVILIZATION, ONLY THE STRONG SURVIVE.
IT IS THE AGE OF #BLASTKETBALL.
So far all I have for this game are distance rules: PIVOT: Your target is close enough to hit them just by shifting your stance in place. DRIBBLE: Your target is close enough you can hit them by moving without giving up THE BALL.
PASS: Your target is close enough you can hit them by moving, but you’ll have to give up THE BALL to do it. SHOOT: Your target is too far away to hit by moving, but you can shoot THE BALL at your target.
If your target is farther than you can SHOOT, we don’t care about it; it’s not on THE COURT.
This game is gonna have different rules depending on how many players there are:
ONE ON ONE: A duel to the death between two WARRIORS OF THE COURT
SHIRTS AND SKINS: A brutal melee between two opposing factions competing over territory in THE WASTES
You win the game either by SHOOTING THE BALL into the BASKET
or by physically beating the other team until they forfeit
or by not holding THE BALL when it explodes
Ooh did I forget to mention that THE BALL explodes
Yeah that’s super important
This game has 14 playbooks
Each of them has Crunchy AF rules
None of those rules matter once you step onto THE COURT.
The book has 400 pages of lore describing the deep drama that exists among THE WASTES, the warring factions that vie for control, the extremely mutated and very cool monsters
There’s a whole chapter about THE MONARCH, a giant beautiful butterfly who controls the water supply
The lore is super important, you’re going to need to read it to fully understand the stakes of Blastketball.
Still, none of the lore matters once you step onto THE COURT.
The game takes five minutes to play.
It takes a lifetime to master.
If you lose, you die.
PLAY #BLASTKETBALL. OR ELSE.
(I’m actually going to write this game and it’s going to be great)
